VANITY FAIR – official sponsor of Berlinale:Special edition and press lounge
Sponsorship accompanied by multi channel marketing campaign
 
Munich/Berlin, 6th February 2008.
Berlinale, one of the most important events of the international film industry, is set in the German capital for the time of eleven days.At the same day of the start of Berlinale on 7th February 2008, VANITY FAIR celebrates its first birthday and has become official co-sponsor of the film festival since this year.
 
On this occasion, there is a special Berlinale edition with 84 pages given with the issue (07/08) (first day in sale 07.02.2008).The supplement is the ideal reading for the film festival offering portraits and background reports as well as an extensive service section.For example, the most important persons of the film capital Berlin are presented:Directors, agents and producers from the capital, who are also important for the international film business.Michael Ballhaus, one of the most renowned German cameramen, talks about his work in Hollywood.The programme and service guide offers the readers an overview of the most important dates and interesting films.About 50,000 additional copies of the special edition are available on central locations in Berlin as well as on other exclusive locations like KaDeWe.
 
VANITY FAIR will be present on Berlinale as well:“VANITY FAIR Press Lounge” at Potsdamer Platz is one of the official interview locations during Berlinale, offering German and international media the respective environment for interviews and photo shootings.The editorial team of VANITY FAIR as well will be talking to celebrities in the lounge and provide its readers with daily topical information about the film festival via the Berlinale microsite on VANITY FAIR ONLINE.
 
“We have to be present on events that suit the brand of VANITY FAIR and are top issue in the magazine” says Dr. Markus Schönmann, Publisher VANITY FAIR about the sponsorship.The involvement of VANITY FAIR in Berlinale is supported by an extensive multi channel marketing campaign.Apart from traditional and outdoor advertising, there will be different activities promoting sales.Various retailers in Berlin will be supplied with decoration material and red VANITY FAIR carpets providing Hollywood flair at the point of sale.
 

Promotion teams will support the distribution of subscriptions in German cities during Berlinale.The golden letters of the magazine and the new image campaign will be shown in an exposed shop window of KaDeWe which is furnished as a cinema hall.The campaign is supported by prize games in the magazine and in the Berlinale cinemas.

 

Apart from being official co-sponsor, VANITY FAIR is also media partner of the charity gala “Cinema for Peace”.The most beautiful moments of the gala will be presented by a special publication of four pages.
